Cape Conran Coastal Park is tucked along Victoria’s far-east Wilderness Coast, with camping among banksias and manna gums, wild ocean beaches for beachcombing, and whales passing on their annual migration from May to October. Camping options range from the main Banksia Bluff campground, with toilets and bush showers, to the remote Bemm River and Pearl Point. The park supports Lace Monitors, wombats, Southern Brown Bandicoots and Long-nosed Potoroos, and the East Cape Boardwalk carries interpretive signs explaining the Aboriginal history of the Cape.
The two recorded conditions are unrelated to each other and one of them can end a trip. Essential works to install drinking water and wastewater systems, new septic tanks and pump stations mean Banksia Bluff Campground is closed for an extended period rather than a weekend - the notice states a closure into May through to the end of October 2026. Separately, Parks Victoria conducts ground-shooting control operations targeting deer, during which the park remains open to visitors.
