Yallock-Bulluk Marine and Coastal Park is part of an Aboriginal cultural landscape in the traditional Country of the Bunurong Peoples. It combines about 40 kilometres of coastal reserves from San Remo to Inverloch into a single park of dramatic cliffs, sandy coves, wetlands and underwater reefs, with the stated intent of better protecting this stretch of Bunurong Country while improving access, facilities and recreation.

Recorded conditions here are typically construction notices rather than a closure of the coast, and the distinction matters when deciding whether to drive down. A notice at a site such as Eagles Nest can close the lookout while separately stating whether the car park, walking track and beach access are affected; it can also describe shorter car park closures for material deliveries. A Punchbowl notice can likewise distinguish the lookout from the car park and beach. At The Arch and Shanty Lane at Kilcunda, a works notice can describe the lookout, Bunurong artwork, interpretive signage and visitor seating separately from access along the existing trail and car park.
